Malcolm is a former architect and the leader of a small group of humans who come in contact with Caesar's colony of apes. He is the husband of Ellie and the father of Alexander. Upon meeting Caesar, Malcolm becomes his human counterpart. During Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, he serves as the deuteragonist of the film. read more
So when War for the Planet of the Apes came out and there was no mention of Malcolm, Jason Clarke’s character from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, it didn’t really bother me. He and Caesar had gone their separate ways, and while his character represented a chance for peace between humans and apes, the whole point of War is that that the door has closed and there are no good humans left. read more
According to War Novelization, Malcolm is mentioned to have come to Colonel McCullough and begged him to make peace with Caesar and the other apes. Malcolm had reportedly told the Colonel that Caesar was not just an animal, but also a great leader. McCullough dismissed this and executed Malcolm for his support of the apes by shooting him in the head. read more
