What happens to Rose and Jack at the end of Titanic?

I think Rose died. Why else would the shot show her going back to the Titanic to be with Jack? Also, the entire staircase area is filled with all those who died with the ship. This is all my opinion but that's what I believe is suggested. Same as Les Mis (new one) and the final episode of Lost. read more

Rose and Jack initially survive the sinking of the ship and find a floating plank to hang onto as they and the other survivors drift in the cold, dark Atlantic. To avoid the intensely cold water, Jack helps Rose get onto the plank. read more

Here is my pitch for Titanic 2. Jack observes Rose from Heaven in the months after the sinking, but she is losing her way and is grieving Jack's death in an unhealthy way. So Jack makes a deal with God to return to to the human world — however, he must go back in time, to Titanic, and must try to survive the sinking. read more

At the end of Titanic, the camera pans across a group of pictures that showed Rose had lived a rich, full life (some of which was suggested to her by Jack - e.g. learning how to ride 'like a man'). It then settles on a very peaceful looking Rose in her bed. read more
