If Germany won the 1st battle: It would’ve been extremely unlikely, but the Germans would need to occupy and hold Paris to win the battle. Desperate soldiers would engage in street fighting to protect the capital, and it would be badly damaged. But as the German offensive stalls, France probably wouldn’t ask for peace. read more
