Difference between 70S and 80S Ribosomes (Prokaryotic vs Eukaryotic Ribosomes) Types of Ribosomes: 70S and 80S Ribosomes. 70S and 80S. read more
70 s ribosome is the prokaryotic ribosome. It means that all the prokaryotic organisms have it. Now this 70s ribosome is divided into 2 subunits: 30s and 50s. Do not get confused with the addition (30+50=80) because this is not math. It depends upon what each of the subunits are made of i.e different types of rrna. 80s is the eukaryotic ribosome. read more
9. 80S ribosomes are synthesized inside the nucleolus. 10. It contains about 73 protein molecules, 40 in larger subunit and 33 in smaller subunit. 11. Protein synthesis is not inhibited by common antibiotics like chloramphenicol. Difference # 70S Ribosomes: 1. 70S ribosomes are found both in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. 2. read more
