Unlike some posters, I do think the idea of a starter dog, ie a dog that is a better choice for someone without a lot of dog experience, is a good one. I don't assume the OP is looking to trade up lol. That said, I would avoid very active breeds, large breeds, and very smart breeds. All of these would be challenging for the less experienced dog owner. read more
