Byron Bay is very expensive to live in, one needs to be able to afford the housing / rental or buy. Google the cost of acquiring such accommodation, you will be astounded. read more
Where I live [on the hill behind the township] is very rural while still being less than 10 minutes from the centre of Byron Bay. We have the best of both worlds IMO where we are. Byron Bay township for the restaurants, night life, etc, then 10 minutes back home for a quiet rural life in the country. read more
