They are fed on grain. Grain creates more fat in meat than grass. You identify fat as marbling, these are thin white lines in the meat. Cooking well marbled meat correctly will allow the marbled fat to melt into the meat. read more

What it may be is “kobe style" beef from wagyu cattle grass fed in the U.S (possibly cross bred with angus), or from the grass fed free roaming Tajima cattle in New Zealand. Either way not authentic Kobe beef. Due to the loose labeling laws in the U.S. it's hard to hold people to honesty. read more
