In order to become a vet, regardless of your previous experience, you must complete college and then complete a veterinary training program. In that US, that means 8 years of college education. Unfortunately being a veterinary nurse is of little benefit except that you have some understanding of what the profession entails and you have a lot of practical experience. read more
