It's one thing to deal with the reality of Alzheimers on the outside, looking in, but it is an entirely different experience knowing that you are going to undergo those changes yourself, that you are going to cause that suffering to others (examples of which are listed in other answers), that you are not even going to be you (on top of dealing with it in my father and others). read more

Reality is a reflection of what the person living with Alzheimer's thinks and believes. It is this reality that you must focus on, not the way YOU think things are, or should be. I feel confident when I say this -- you are not going to be able to convince a person living with Alzheimer's that they are wrong, and you won't be able to convince them that your reality is the true reality. read more
