The Duke dorm rooms vary sooo much, so it's hard to give you an accurate idea of"dorms" at Duke. As far as freshman dorms go, there are 14. Each dorm has certain pros and cons of living there, but you don't get to choose so that doesn't matter. All sophomores live on west on one of 7 quads. Juniors can live on west or on central campus apartments. read more
As a Freshman at Duke, what Tom says about freshman at Duke University does not apply to me at all. Freshmen at Duke are required to live in East Campus. There are various first-year programs available. First is Pre-Orientation programs. These are 1-2 week programs which students participate in small groups.
