What is it like to live in New Jersey?

I don't think I'll attempt (nor is it possible) to capture "the New Jersey experience," but I have a few things to share. I grew up (from age 3-18) in NJ. Note: I didn't like it particularly much, and I also lived in central Jersey, which the rest of the state doesn't consider part of NJ. Anyway. A lot of the stereotypes are fairly true. read more

A lot of New Jersey's appearance in the media is exaggeration, but when I watch films like Garden State or Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle - or whenever I go to a diner - I feel like I'm getting a legit piece of Jersey. read more

I live near McGinley Sq - which is not really a a square as it is usally encountered (for example Bergen Sq just a few blocks north). McG2 is actually just the relatively large intersection of Montgomery and Bergen. read more
