Despite all the changes taking place citywide, cariocas (residents of Rio) still gather late into the night and sway to the samba music that pours out of bars and cafes in rejuvenated neighbourhoods like Lapa in the south of the city. read more

The beaches, scenery and Rio culture are amazing, it's like Miami on steroids with mountains and jungle thrown into the mix. The main drawback is the crime. Unfortunately, some people from the ghettos (called Favelas in Brazil) make a living out of robbing foreigners. read more

Rio Vista, for us, was a very depressing experience. Lost in time, like the"Twilight Zone". Endless stream of 18 wheelers rumble through the town on the narrow, undivided, potholed and dangerous rural roads that lead to this place. read more
