You should live in or at least visit the beautiful city Ashgabat-White Marble City, capital of Turkmenistan. You can fall in love with architecture. You should taste local food (most of the items include Beef) Clothes, shoes, electronics and goggles are more expensive. read more

Having read so much about human rights abuses, arrests of opposition leaders, and all-permeating control, I expected to see in Turkmenistan something like Islam Karimov's regime in Uzbekistan. Even something worse, actually, because the opposition in Uzbekistan is given at least some leeway. read more
