Nanotechnology is a very wide field if it can be said to be "a field" at all. What you must first realize is that nanotechnology deals with sizes in the range of 1 to 100 nm in one, two or three dimensions. read more

Majors like Chemistry, Biology, Biotech, Biochem, etc are all appropriate. Really, you want to: know a lot of chemistry, because a strong majority of nanotech research seems to involve it to one degree or another; know a fair amount of biology/physics/electronics, because they're involved in specific projects/applications. read more

Nanotechnology is science, engineering, and technology conducted at the nanoscale, which is about 1 to 100 nanometers. Physicist Richard Feynman, the father of nanotechnology. Nanoscience and nanotechnology are the study and application of extremely small things and can be used across all the other science fields, such as chemistry, biology, physics, materials science, and engineering. read more
