What is it like to perform at USO tours for troops?

I've not been a performer at a USO show, but I've seen several from both the front and the back of the house. What's in it for the performers is publicity. For some, like Bob Hope, it became part of his professional identity. read more

Tours usually included several locations as it was not cost-effective to do just one or two. There were also USO tours within the US, to bases around the country. Those taking part were sometimes top-name performers who couldn't, for whatever reason, travel abroad. read more
