What is Saint Luke known for?

Luke, referred to by Paul as the "Beloved Physician," has rightly been called the first Christian historian. He was the only Gentile writer of the New Testament. He is the evangelist, poet, artist and cantor of the infancy of Jesus Christ. read more

Saint Luke was proclaimed a saint longbefore the twelfth century. Before this time if people wished tohonor the life of someone who they considered saintly a localbishop would add a new saint's day feast day to the churchcalendar. Saint Luke's feast day is on October 18th. read more
