The Chow Chow’s somewhat iffy reputation comes from the fact that it is a great guard dog. I think it wasn’t included because it is a list of best guard dogs for Families. Tibetan Mastiffs are more much more inherently aggressive and harder to train than most on this list. IMO a bullmastiff is the ideal guard dog for families. Extremely calm and patient with its family including children but very cautious of strangers. read more
