Whenever you have to lubricate an electric pump, bench grinder or other electric motor, don’t pull just any oil off the shelf. Instead, pick up electric motor oil, like 3-In-One electric motor oil (about $3 at amazon). Don’t use automotive motor oil! It’s too “thin” for electric motors. Plus, it contains detergent. read more
It depends on the motor. If no advice from manufacturer is available, a light, non-detergent, non-drying mineral oil is a good place to start. 3-in-1 is a common brand. read more
I bought the 3 in one motor oil years ago and i have used it for many different things such as: Electric motors, Power tools, Bicycle brake and shifter cables, chains and freewheels etc and many other things and it always works great, lasts along time and stands the heat of electric motors. read more
