I'd like to add to some of the other answers… If the home team has NOT met the run requirement entering the bottom half of the inning after which a mercy rule may take effect, if the home team scores enough runs to meet the run requirement, the game ends immediately, just as if it were the last inning. read more

Unfortunately and unfairly in Wii, when you go ahead 5 runs over the opponent, there is no mercy rule. In other words, you can go ahead 24 and 2 over the computer and the game isn't called but if the score is 6-1 in favor of the computer, the game is done. read more
