Here I will assume you are talking about the Tomato Hornworm - as those are the only worms I’ve ever seen on my plants. Simple - put the worm on a brick. Hit it with another brick. Tomato worms in pupae form often inhabit the soil beneath tomato plants, staying there over the winter and emerging in the spring.
