If “break” means “require replacement” then my vote for the most likely thing would be the battery. My battery’s capacity degraded to 66% (showing 8 of 12 possible bars on the battery capacity gauge). The battery was replaced under Nissan’s battery warranty. read more
The one thing that will have to be replaced at a normal rate is the tires. The Leaf won't do anything to slow down tire wear. It's also possible that something could go wrong with the car mechanically. However, that's the beauty of EVs. There is so much less that can go wrong with them and so many less wear-out items. read more
The new Leaf is rated for 248 miles in Japan, 235 miles in Europe, but only 150 miles in the US, due to different range tests for electric vehicles in different territories. Nissan said it would launch a longer, US 200-mile rated version of the Leaf in 2019 that would be more expensive. read more
