Especially in summer months, Disneyland's fireworks are cancelled about a fifth of the time because the prevailing winds blow the smoke eastward across neighboring Interstate 5, creating a driving hazard that the California Highway Patrol deems unacceptable. Mostly wind though. If it's a light rain with no wind, they will most likely go on. Even a 10mph wind will cause them not to go off. Even if it's not windy inside the park, doesn't mean it's not windy where they are released/blown (or whatever they call it when a firework explodes). read more
