There were no nickels produced in 1803. The 5 cent denomination coin in 1803 was the draped bust half dime and sorta looks like the one below.. only 37,850 were minted and any survivors are worth hundreds of dollars better conditions can be in to the thousands.. read more
The only coins dated 1803 by the U.S. Mint are half cents, large cents, half dimes, dimes, half dollars, silver dollars, gold half eagles ($5 face value) and eagles ($10 face value). I hope this helps. read more

Uh, turn the coin over. It was minted in 2004. 1803 is the date ofthe Louisiana Purchase Plus, it's not silver either. read more
