UC Irvine however, is closer and I heard there are a couple offices to work for nearby. I hear UC Santa Cruz is beneficial because Silicon Valley is nearby but UC Irvine does have really good CS courses. read more
However, in recent years, I'd say a lot more boarding school grads are ending up in the Silicon Valley (vs. DC or NYC), so the name recognition is increasing. Not to mention that Mark Zuckerberg went to Exeter, so I think that's probably helped Exeter's reputation in the Silicon Valley. read more
