Y-Wing Figure 1 This is an excellent candidate eliminator. The name derives from the fact that it looks like an X-Wing - but with three corners, not four. X-Wing example 2 : Load Example or : From the Start In this second example I've chosen a Sudoku puzzle where an enormous number of candidates can be removed using two X-Wings. In Y-Wing Example 3, I find two Y-Wing candidates. In address of { {B, 6}, {B, 1},{D, 6} }, Y-Wing is { {3, 4}, {3, 8}, {4, 8} }, then 4 in {D, 1} shoud be removed. This is shown in your figure. read more
