What is your best cockroach story?

I worked as a potwash in the kitchen of a hospital in Melbourne, Australia. It was infested, I mean really infested with cockroaches. I would lift up saucepans and see hundreds of all sizes scurry for the darkness. I remember the head chef telling me to "try and ignore the roaches". I couldn't. But even more disgusting were the comments that began filling my Facebook feed. Other barf-worthy roach stories. Like roaches caught in hair. Roaches at the bottom of coffee mugs at five star hotels. Roaches frozen in ice cubes in Cokes. This was disgusting. But it was also pretty funny. Because most of the people commenting were expatriates. Or campers. read more
