Single malt whisky is called so because it comes from a single distillery and the main ingredient needed is the mash of malted grain. In Scotland, this drink is very popular. If you are asking my choice, I would like to have those brands that I can drink in different ways straight, on the rocks, and in cocktails. Here are my favorite choices. read more

Armorik, from Breton, is much more Celtic (the Bretons are after all more closely related to the Scots and Irish than they are to the French). I believe it's a straightforward lightly peated whisky. A combination of high-end quality casks, craftsmanship and striving for perfectionism that is hard to find anywhere else. It's leagues better than the 18-year-old expression which is already superb. Anyway, if you'd ask me for one Single Malt I'd truely recommend, it would be this gem: Caol Ila 30yr at cask strength. read more
