What is your impression of my country, Malaysia?

I think most of my fellow Americans severely underrate Malaysia. It gets lost in the hubub around Thailand and (to a lesser but growing degree) Vietnam in SE Asia. I have to start with the food. read more

Malaysia is a country where you will learn to love it more as you get used to it (like Malaysian food). I think more Westerners should consider retiring there (versus Thailand or even Cambodia.) It is reasonably modern with good infrastructure. Not quite to the level of Japan / Western Europe, but good enough. read more

My impression of Malaysia before I ever travelled to the country was more than 20 years ago (I was less than 10 then) so I don’t exactly remember what I think of the country at all. read more
