I hope someone will chime in here and answer, because I don't know, and I've obviously never met Gabriel. But my intuition is that he's a kind fellow, and perhaps a family man. He left Genesis to attend to family responsibilities, and snuck one of his daughters into a video ("Sledgehammer"). read more

Peter Gabriel is a brilliant musician. I think it's hard to dispute that he's been resting on his laurels for the past couple of decades, however. His political activism seems genuine and I appreciate his promotion of world music through Real World Records and other efforts.
