There are so many launch points for Jethro Tull. If you like the Blues then any of the first 2 or 3 albums will do - This Was, Stand Up, Benefit etc. This Was has the excellent Mick Abrahams on guitar, very different style to the later ubiquitous and equally excellent Martin Barre. read more
Third album Benefit is good, getting more acoustic. Jethro Tull really begin for me at Aqualung, followed by Thick As A Brick. Both are classics, with that mix of rock and acoustic. The next album Passion Play is kinda similar to Thick As A Brick but is a more difficult work for neophytes to get into. read more
