What kind of students do teachers appreciate?

I've taught for more than 25 years. My favorite students? Those who always do more than expected. Those who work hard. Those who persist. 4- Students who start the class like average or less but with the teacher's encouragement and polished teaching skills they improve and become better students. They are rewarding and fulfilling. For teachers, seeing our students growing up and turning into happy humans is all the appreciation we need. 3. Teachers want more time. I have multiple student interns working in my classroom -- not only is it good for young college students to see the power of teaching, but it's equally beneficial for my students to have more 'helpers' and adults to see as role models. I appreciate a teacher who understands that students may have other things going on outside of school. I appreciate a teacher who tries to help those students, but not overly so. I appreciate a teacher who has a sense of humor and isn’t afraid to use it. I appreciate a teacher who teaches. read more
