What percentage of people in China eat rats?

There is a village in Guangdong province where eating baby rats is considered a delicacy — they eat almost everything in Guangdong. Elsewhere in China, it is not done to eat rats. In Inner Mongolia, they do sometimes eat marmots (groundhogs) which in Chinese language translate as 土拨鼠, while rat is 大鼠and mouse is 鼠标. read more

Earlier this month, the Ministry of Public Security for the People's Republic of China announced a three-month crackdown on food safety violators, some of it involving rat, fox and, mink flesh being sold as lamb meat. read more
