What sounds do lyres and harps make?

Gives a nice booming sound that really rings for a long time. They are even bowed psalteries that have a very strange and ethereal sound. I don’t know much about lyres but from what I’ve heard that use a plectrum and probably have a technique similar to the plucked psaltery. The Harp is a traditional Irish and Celtic instrument, mentioned in the Bible also, I believe also used in France and Spain in the Middle Ages. Lyres have two arms (front and back) to support a top bar which the strings attach to and the soundbox is on the bottom. read more
