As a car approaches a turn and you apply the brakes and then turn the wheel, grip is reduced at the front, and the car begins to drift towards the outside of the turn. That's understeer. To control understeer, more grip is needed on the front wheels. read more
Many of the world's best race-car drivers brake with their left. On an automatic, you can use it 100% of the time, and on a manual, you can use it whenever you don't need to shift.
