In my small trailer i use penzoil marine grease which states excellent for use in wheel bearings. however, getting ready to do new bearings in my big trailer and was thinking of going with a red hi temp grease, due to it having disc brakes. read more
Remove the lug nuts and wheel with the lug wrench and look at the back of the wheel and hub for grease. The rear seal will need to be replaced if you see any grease. read more
Your wheel bearings were probably originally lubed with a lithium-12-complex grease, a perfectly good grease for wheel-bearing use, even on a boat trailer if it's maintained. Shooting some more grease into the bearing cap with a grease gun isn't a bad idea. read more
