What was it like seeing Nirvana live in concert?

I saw them in the New York Colosseum, a disused tradeshow exhibition center appropriately enough, on the In Utero tour. It was a strange place for a concert; just a giant open floor space. read more

So, I got to see Nirvana live three times and my opinion is that they were terrible live. One show the band completely imploded and walked off the stage after 3–4 songs. read more

of course, there is always a certain amount of contrivance in all creations. artists want to produce good things, even if they try hard to make it look like they are not trying. nirvana and cobain were very much like this. trying hard to look like they weren't trying. but in this case the authenticity of cobain was readily apparent. read more
