While doing my DMA in Seattle, another student did a dissertation with a long interview with McCoy Tyner, Mr Coltrane's pianist in the early '60's. He told her that Mr Coltrane was quiet, seemingly pre-occupied, but soft spoken and gentle. His opinion seemed to be that John Coltrane was a very nice person. read more
