What was your first skateboarding experience like?

I was 15 when I saw my neighbors kids, Gautam(10) and Kaushal(8), skating on a two-wheeler. Never had I seen A TWO-WHEELER SKATEBOARD before (this was before hover-boards became popular). Finally, after what felt like eternity (actually only 2 hours), I began actual ‘wave-boarding’. The feeling was ecstatic. With few days of practice, I could even take proper U-turns. The best part about this experience was making two new friends. read more

Because, there are no short cuts in skateboarding, it’s the long hard less travelled road that leads to personal experience, creative focus, depth and inclusion. As a creative subculture, skateboarding is big business for sure; marketed and sold to the masses, but, the ability to flow confidently on a skateboard is no easy feat. read more

As it eventually became more apparent that skateboarding had a particular identity with a style of shoe, other brands of shoe companies began to specifically design skate shoes for functionality and style to further enhance the experience and culture of skateboarding including such brands as; Converse, Nike, DC Shoes, Globe, Adidas, Zoo York and World Industries. read more
