Most jobs in industry were possibilities for women including jobs previously viewed as men’s work - riveters, steelworkers, assembly line workers, welders, and many more. The war, of course, required more nurses and that avenue was available as were a variety of clerical positions as no war or industrial boom can be managed without records and reports. read more
