One reason is that he was purely psychopathic/sociopathic (there are debates about which one he is) and killed just for the fun of it. Francis Tumblety- A suspect at the time, but not a serious one. Tumbelty had a different psychological make up from whoever was the Ripper and, most notably, was homosexual.
