What would happen if all the seagulls disappeared?

A lot of garbage would pile up on the shore. They are graceful in flight. At one outside restaurant in RI they will land on the railing and steal a clam out of your plate. That is not so admirable. Actually, seagulls are scavengers. Like all of the other scavengers around the world, they clean up the garbage by eating it. They must be useful because every ecosystem has scavengers. read more

All in all, it is safe to say that that would be bad for entire Earth. The only species, if dead, helps the Mother Earth or do not destroy the ecology, is the Home Sapiens. They destroy more of it than they create. They are at the top of the chain and thus taken out will not result in catastrophic imbalance. read more
