The Ramayana of Valmiki does not provide much detail regarding the boatman in the 'Kevat Samvad' or the Dialogue between Lord Ram & the Boatman. Valmiki was not so interested in recording details of minor characters than in transmitting the story of Lord Ram as the example of the righteous path for all living creaturesh. read more
