No, they’re not lying. Even actors are ‘real people’. Forgive my facetious answer. To be perfectly honest, I don’t know the answer to this question. Advertisers should not stretch the truth or lie. They will always ultimately be exposed. One of my pet peeves is when a celebrity endorses a product that they quite clearly don’t use. read more
At least five confirmed actors have appeared in Chevrolet’s “Real People, Not Actors” commercials. Perhaps they were all sincere mistakes. Perhaps Chevy knew more than it let on. read more
They make me want to take a shower. In this case, Chevy has gone beyond simply blurring the lines between "real research with real people, not actors" and advertising. They're lying about it. Research should guide advertising, it shouldn't try to be advertising. And companies shouldn't lie to people to sell cars. It's a shame and I need a bar of soap. read more
