When did Ford get rid of this motor called Triton V8 or V10?

It's now called the Coyote motor. The v10 is discontinued and for good reason. The 5.4 triton was gutless, had cam phaser issues that made people think they had a rod knock and they sucked gas like no other. Inefficient to say the least. read more

That happens. But, by and large, the 5.4L Triton was/is a great engine. Like another person brought up, the EcoBoost engine has not had the full run of experiential tests but I was very impressed by the results of the torture tests that Ford did on it. Ford most certainly did not discontinue the 5.4L Triton because it was a piece of crap. read more
