In the early 1970's most piano companies completely abandoned the use of ivory key tops. There is no exact year because some pianos produced in Germany and other parts of Europe continued to use Ivory after American companies had stopped using it. If you find a piano before 1970 with the original key tops it probably has ivory keys. read more
