What made Arab enslavement and slavery different was that unlike what games the Africans of north Africa were used to putting up with and fighting, where suspicious and often blatant outsiders constantly trying to penetrate Africa and demanding a fixed number of slaves to maintain state function, not necessarily based on race, but the usual criterion for slavery. read more
