When do Dutch children start having homework?

This post is fascinating, I think that there are a lot of things that many countries could learn from the Dutch education system. I'm amazed when I here about homework being given out to kids here in the UK more or less from the start of primary school. read more

Well, that depends on the school and the individual teacher. One school I know had a homework assignment given to 6-yearolds. Other schools doesn’t have them at all. It all depends in some respect on the kind of pedagogy behind the school. read more

According to Unicef’s most recent Child Well Being in Rich Countries survey, Dutch kids ranked as the happiest kids in the world. Dutch kids led the way in three out of the five categories, namely- material well being, educational well being, and behavior and risks. Unicef Germany isn’t the first research organization to come to this conclusion. read more
