When should one stop playing with barbie dolls?

Little girls get Barbies today that have a defined personality--perhaps a"Fantasy Mermaid" or a"Ballet Barbie," or a"Happy Birthday" Barbie. This is fine for a 3 year old, or even a 6 year old. But, older girls have more sophisticated imaginations and they need more sophisticated playthings. read more

Girls today often stop playing with dolls earlier, but they also have a lot more options than 15 years ago. Kids today are also growing up tooo fast (not necessarily being any more mature, but their interests change too fast). There are tons of moms, babysitters, preschool teachers, etc. who love playing dolls with their children. read more
