Where has the planet Pluto gone?

Pluto has 5 moons, Charon, Styx, nix, Kerberos and hydra. charon the largest is over half the diameter of Pluto and 1/8 the mass. This is enough that it has pulled Pluto off centre and formed a barycentre outside of Pluto. read more

Pluto has just been reclassified so that it is no longer considered a planet. It is, as someone else has said, smaller than Earth's moon. The reason for the reclassification is that in recent years it became clear that there are many other objects similar to Pluto in orbit around the sun. read more

Back in 2006, more than two years ago, astronomers decided that Pluto should be called a dwarf planet, not a regular planet. But what a bunch of people decide to CALL something doesn't change the thing at all. The reason they decided to that Pluto wasn't a regular planet has nothing to do with it's size. read more
