Eventually I left there and made enough money to buy a car, which from time to time I found it necessary to sleep in, and in fact I now own 3 cars, a house and 100 accordions. but there is no future in Chattanooga for anyone so unfortunate as to be sleeping in a car, and if you get out of there in one piece, congratulations. read more
FWIW, it's not illegal per se to sleep in your car in TN, but most places (both public & private) don't allow it. I do know that you're not allowed to stay overnight in TDOT rest areas. You can, however, camp for free (primitive style) in our national forests for up to 2 weeks in one spot. read more
